A hero is born on the school yard
“Udoiana Raunes” is named after our teacher Udo Rau, who looked a bit like Indy whenever he taught geography. The first game – Dr. Raunes saves our high school – is sold at school and does better than the student magazine.

Bigger, louder, more pixels. Reviews from within part 3 are mixed:
“It was bad, ugly-pixeled, uninspired, and it finally stuck at the copier!” – a fan in a tree

Part 3: in search for Indiana Jones 4
Indy 4 had been “in pre-production” for more than ten years. So we dusted off the old DOS engine and sent Raunes around the world to bring George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, Harrison Ford and Sean Connery together – and to find a script. Version 1.0 shipped in April 2005, in glorious 320 × 200.

Mission: real life
Stefan’s short film Dangerous Animal is nominated at the Hollywood Film Festival. There he shakes George Lucas’ hand and begs for a fourth Indy movie. Lucas’ wife laughs. Lucas says: “Okay, I will.”

Dug up, ported, remastered
The original Turbo Pascal source turned up again. It was transliterated line by line into plain JavaScript – same pixels, same palette, same typos, same bugs – and checked against the original running in DOSBox, frame by frame. Then came the remaster: every room, sprite and button redrawn at 4× with AI assistance, three soundtracks, and a live switch between 2005 and 2026.
